Im a kid so i dont have the best set up just the Klipsch F-3's C-3 S-3 Sub 12 but i am wondering when i got this set up for my birthday my dad for some reason also purchased an extra sub-12 that has just been sitting around still in the box for a good 10 months now but my question is will i benefit from two subs?
this set up is in my room which is not very big 16x14 and pretty cramped (speaker set-up 42"dlp computer dressers and stuff and queen bed) so i was just wondering if it would do anything just to give it some use thanks :)
Punctuation. You need that first.

After that, yes, you will benefit from two subs, to even out hot spots and increase SPL, without incurring extra boominess from increasing the volume.

Not really. You need a much higher sample rate 1\10 octave or better for reliable results.

Colocation may or may not produce a flatter frequency response. Most of the test results I have read contradict this statement and opposing placement is the recommended scenario.

Proper multi subwoofer placement

colocating them would negate one of the major advantages of having 2 subs ... which is a flatter response. but you wouldnt know if it improved or got worse without measuring.
sure, you need a calibrated mic ... but the money for the mic is better used to upgrade the system (or simply a better sub). an SPL meter, though inaccurate (but with correction values) would seem good enough (for me) and can be utilized for other purposes like level matching, system calibration and setup.

I have read that harman white paper which is why I would prefer NOT to colocate dual subs. I did not understand what you were trying to say ... are you saying colocating them will produce flatter response?

edit: if I understand what you say correctly, we are actually in agreement about NOT colocating them to get a flatter response.

Yes, I think we are on the same page.

Not sure if these questions are directed towards me but I use an RSW15 placed close to center of the front wall for flattest response and cleanest midrange in my HT. Bass reinforcement was not necessary with this subwoofer. Photos of my setup are in my signature.
