Brian, if I take a long drive I prefer to listen to The Wall by Pink Floyd. I also really like Dark Side of the Moon. My favs are Another Brick In The Wall and Momma. I Wish You Were Here is another great one. Really makes for an afternoon of fun when taking trips.

Cheers,

Phil

PS: If I have the time, I will also listen to Momentary Lapse of Reason by once again Pink Floyd. Can you tell I really like Pink Floyd?:D:D

Since I have got good CD changers in the cars for the past few years I only listen to the radio on rare occasions. I have probably heard them without knowing the artists, like a lot of newer music. Thats why I was hoping you guys could fill in the good stuff thats more recent. I like Porcupine Tree (3 CDs) but I find it is a little to much speed and intensity if there is such a thing. I can only listen to them when I am in a certain mood.

I agree in that certain moods make certain songs more preferable. Alice In Chains has been around for a good while. It is just lately, I am really liking their music more and more. You may want to go to youtube and check them out. Lots of talent with exceptional vocal support.

Cheers,

Phil

Vizionut – I don’t have XM radio, just AM/FM. I am only in the car 40 minutes a day commuting and I don’t think it is worth $10 per month for me in this time of holding down household costs. If I were a trucker on the road all the time, then that would be a must have.

Sheep – If you like classic rock, then my music suggestions should be right up your alley, but I have some good stuff in there that mainstream rock radio at that time generally didn’t play. The non-mainstream stuff generally doesn’t make it to compilation discs either. Funning thing was that I first heard Alex Harvey’s song Next on the underground FM radio, which is pretty strange since it is raunchy and funny at the same time.

Speakerman39 - I will give Alice in Chains a try since you recommend them (as well as a lot of other recommendations in this thread). Most CDs over a year or two old are in my local library – Great for classic rock.

exit- I have been looking at xm radio for some time now. I want to be able to listen at home and in my truck. I have been looking at this model from pioneer. gex-xmp3 portable xm satelite radio receiver w/home kit. I do agree with you about the $10 bucks a month. I myself do not need anymore new bills.
