Anyway all kidding aside this is a bad thing. I had heard about this coming years ago, it's not Obama's idea.
So, I'm sure Obama will stop it then, right?

I'm sure if the patriot act was wrong and an infringement on our rights, this is just as bad.
Obama will change it.

Frog Analogy

The OP's Big Brother post got me thinking.
Our rights have been slowly slipping away for many years.

It reminds of the old frog analogy, you may have heard it before:
Take a frog and throw it into a pot of boiling water. It'll jump out as quickly as possible!

Take the same frog, put it in a pot of cold water, and heat it up slowly... it will sit in the water until it dies.

That's where the majority of Americans are right now... they're comfy in that hot water.

If you are stealing music, movies or games you are a thief and deserve whatever is the appropriate punishment.
Rather than the lame punishments that are handed out I would prefer to see the confiscation of the gear used. Said gear would then be donated to schools in the cities and towns and used for positive activities.

I would also like to see a tv show similar to "Cops" that would show the confiscation of gear and the tears that follow...awesome tv...rolling on the floor laughing tv...
Sounds like fun.

Do you really think that? Where do you see that? Simply accepting the reality of a situation doesn't mean one likes it. It's simply maturity.

You don't see that I, for one, don't necessarily like it, but the actions of the majority give "them" the excuses "they" need in order to tighten their grip.

By your refusal to acknowledge that the mass stealing of intellectual property, even though it may only be an excuse, gave rise to this makes me wonder about the depths of your reasoning abilities.

So, what I'm basically saying is that if you want to get mad at anyone, get mad at the intellectual property thieves who see nothing wrong with what they do.

P.S. What's a "good little angle?

You don't have software that can totally reformat a borrowed computer and reinstall the basic O/S, like ghost?
Most of the time PC's like that have an app installed like Deep Freeze, which reverts the PC back to the vanilla image that is installed and wipes any changes that were made including any files or folders when it is rebooted. So a reimage is not necessary.

This would be a huge infringement on privacy if this gets passed. As the government will take advantage of crime and or adverse events to pass new laws that contain extreme measures. Always have, always will.

Im glad my comments made you question my "depths of reasoning abilities" Dont think too hard now..

The pirating of software and music has been going on long before 9/11..this doesn't mean the govt has the right to put tabs on everyone's PERSONAL computer..

People are People. Given certain authority, people will abuse it and that is where the major problems come into play. Understand that they will not JUST target people downloading music/movies..it will lead to the monitoring of all sorts of things.

And im sorry your too confused to understand the sarcasm in my "good little angle" comment..Im basically saying that just because you do not download music, or movies, it doesnt not mean this type of privacy invasion will not affect you..

Well, why don't you tell the government that. You're mot likely too young to know that they can do pretty much what they want.

And don't think I like it either. I just know what is.

People are People. Given certain authority, people will abuse it and that is where the major problems come into play. Understand that they will not JUST target people downloading music/movies..it will lead to the monitoring of all sorts of things.
Well, it seems that music thieves abused the system enough to take enough of a bite out of someones profits that they called in a buncha favors with the powers that be.

And im sorry your too confused to understand the sarcasm in my "good little angle" comment..Im basically saying that just because you do not download music, or movies, it doesnt not mean this type of privacy invasion will not affect you..
What kind of angle are you talking about here? A right angle? An acute one or, most likely an obtuse one from your reasoning here.

Whoever said nobody but music thieves would be affected? Did you somehow get the mistaken idea that I was cheering this on? I would have hoped my disgust at this whole mess would have shown through. My writing skills are not that poor I can't communicate my thoughts.

It's funny that the music thieves are just the only ones that seem to crying about it, which is funny since they are the ones that created the need for this BS in the first place. ...or do you STILL not get it?

Yesss im tooo young to know that the govt can do whatever they want.

lol listen this is a forum, im sorry my spelling was wrong, i figure you would have enough logic to figure out the mistake..but OK, its a n g e l. ;) Sorry Mr. spelling bee..

But to the actual topic..
I am well aware of the "music theives." The point that i was making before is that it is not good for anyone to not be able to have any privacy on their OWN computer.

Thats it. I know that the govt can do whatever. Believe me. But reguardless this will hurt tons of people. Tons.
