DIY JBL Speaker Cabinets and Components Question

On Wall don't "defy", they often employ various similar tactics to other small speakers. Ports with higher tuning, shallow drivers, multiple drivers, longer rather than deeper enclosures, etc... but the end result is they don't often sound great. Sonus Faber had some aluminum extrusion based on walls called Sonetto or something, that actually weren't too bad, but as typical for many on-walls, still had less bass.

The Klipschorns are probably my all time favorite nostalgic choice for a speaker. I recognize they are unique, and huge, and don't fit hardly in anyones home. My goodness though, they could play music and make an impression that's hard to forget. I probably will never have the opportunity to own a set, but, that's what musing and dreaming are all about.
Never heard the Klipschorns, but I've heard the Heresys and I was impressed.

Seriously, I have no life.
Welcome to AH.

I have JBL speakers as well. My sig link will take you there. I also built a pair of their kits many years ago. Retired those two speakers a few years ago though
I still have their sub, copied and built a second sub with updated driver.
Enjoy your project.
