Also bang for yor buck goes down hill with in wall.
Having said all that if you go over to the loudspeaker forum there is a thread or two about in wall.
briefcandle, just to add to what Alex said, in-walls are not the best per price. You can get just as good or better performance with less money out of conventional stand alone speakers, especially they are more adjustable in terms of rotating & tilting which are important. You just need a pair of wall mount brackets from online vendor like parts express.

It almost seems blasphemous to pair up the Lexicon with sub-standard in-walls, but these would be nice. Seriously though, there are many good quality in-walls to choose from. A budget idea will help with reco’s.

Captain...very nice looking speakers. I only have room for the Tickets, as they are being installed in a partial wall just below a pass-through window to the kitchen. And the cost is more than I was planning to spend, anyway. But if they sound extra wonderful, I may just go for it. Unfortunately, the nearest dealer is over 150 miles away. But, I may have reason to go there for another reason next week. If I get the time, I may just give them a look and listen.

Will lyk what I think, FWIW.

Thanks for the idea, High Five, but I really do not want speakers protruding from the wall. Flush, or with a bit of sculptural detail like the Martin Logans is ok.

I know my priorities may seem silly to some of you, but this is my living room, not a dedicated listening room, where we used to have ginormous Thiel (sp?) speakers. They were bigger than me (and weighed more, too)!

But never in my living room ;-)

WOW! Thanks everyone for all the ideas on in-the-wall speakers. I am overwhelmed, but will definitely visit those links you sent.

A few have asked for an idea of my budget. My simple answer is, I don't have one. But I was hoping to come in at around 500-750 for both the fronts and the sides (all in-wall, again). But, just to show you how...err, openminded I am, I am intrigued by the Martin Logan Tickets, which would be $800 for the fronts alone. That's because I listen to a lot of music in stereo and I can justify a little splurge on them (if they look AND sound great). If I do that, the sides would have to be cheaper (200-300?).

Again, thanks all for the help. And apology accepted, Sleeper :)

ACK!! Count your blessings that you have one subwoofer in the living room, my dear.

(where do you get the emoticons for big smileyface?)

Those tickets are $400 a piece and if you're gonna use them for the fronts you need 3 of 'em. Don't forget about the all important center channel. For movies it is the most important speaker. When the sound moves to the left or right from the center, it's good to have it move to a speaker that sounds the same as the center. Smooth transitions, gotta have 'em.
