Funny slip.

Hey, she played "Robunda Hooters" in Flesh Gordon meets the Cosmic Cheerleaders. She might even be a better actress than Megan.
From what I could tell she's hotter than Fox. I really don't get Megan, but I have a different taste in women I guess.

Was there even a decent looking woman in D9?:D

Man, if they are going to make aliens, make them look like the ones in Battlestar Galactica.:D

Yeah I'd have stayed faithful to the cylon woman. I'd have said you can do with me what you want. :D

But I think the wife of that one guy was pretty nice.

I think D9 would have been so much better if the aliens all looked like Number Six (BSG Cylon), except make her skin color BLUE (like blu-ray color) since she is an alien.:D

I just didn't like it because there were no sexy White babes (Morgan Fox) + fast and expensive cars & aircrafts.
Why does she have to be a sexy White babe?

You're telling me you don't like to look at sexy Latina, Black, Asian, Arab, Persian women, etc.?

Sarah Shahi, Halle Berry, Sanaa Lathan, Tamlyn Tomita, Selma Hayek and Rosalyn Sanchez don't do it for you?

Did the aliens in D9 even have females? I know they laid eggs, but still.

I'll be curious to see this film mainly because it was shot with the same cameras I use in my video/cinematography business. I'm also encouraged to read positive response from the posts here. How soon before it hits Blu-ray?

I personally love the movie and I've seen it three times.

I don't really understand why people don't like shakey cam. I feel that it adds to the ambience. It doesn't make me nauseous or anything, I can easily keep up with what's going on. Then again, I'm not old, or have poor reflexes.

I thought the ending was wonderful, and unlike some people I know, I don't think it set up for a sequel in anyway. I hope they don't make a sequel.

I saw it in a theater that was recently built near here. They use JBL for the audio and have excellent projectors and screens. Plus, the seats are amazing. Very comfortable, large, and the back goes up past your head. They also lean back very far.

And it only costs $5!!! Screw Showcase, they charge $10.00 for a crappy theater.

Camera shake is often over-used in this day and age, as if shaking the camera will generate a frenetic pace that is otherwise lacking because of poor scripting or directing.

I can tolerate it for brief moments, but when it dominates a film, that's when I lose interest. On a small screen, it's not so sickening, but on a large projection screen, where it dominates the visual senses, it can be downright nauseating.

I prefer the floating, smooth camera moves of the old movies of the Silver Screen era.

D9 definitely had a good amount of camera shake, but it stopped short of annoying me.

Unlike Cloverfield, which I could not stand. It just had wayyyy to much camera shake.

D9 was OK, but nothing great. It just didn't explore so many little things.

I think D9 would make a better TV show than feature film.

Cloverfield was a big letdown, in my opinion. It just didn't deliver the kind of suspense, depth of plot, or even pacing that I had hoped for in that type of movie. Oh well, at least Panasonic HVX200 users had their day on the silver screen to gloat about...

Okay, I did not like this movie at all.

I did not care for any of the characters in this movie, and I definitely did not care for any of the aliens.

Very disappointed.
Typical response from a def owner :p

Anyone knows when "District 9" will be available on blu-ray?

I had real high hopes for this movie being a ACTION SCI-FI (my favorite type of movie) but after watching it i was real disappointed.
the beginning was very stupid like watching someone watching the news. The aliens had the most advanced weapons but yet they were confined in a small city size jail under the mother ship which just hovers there doing nothing.
to sum it up the story line was terrible, acting slightly above B rated movies, FX nothing special.
if you don't want to waste 1.5hrs of your life just fast forward through half the movie and watch the last half so you won't be completely upset for wasting so much time.

See, I'd pretty much give the opposite advice. The last half is OK, but basically just a routine chase-n-shoot. It's a bit of a let-down after such an interesting build up.

I think the main "problem" with this movie is that people went to it with the wrong mind set. Sci-fi Fiction Documentary is how I would describe it. I personally link this movie closer to Schindlers list and such movies than I would action sci-fi movies (I know I am probably gonna get yelled at for this)

Anyone knows?

Is "District 9" on blu-ray yet?

Or if not, when?
