Did Behringer switch to quieter fans?

I just got a Behringer EP 2000 to power an 15" DIY sub that I am finally getting around to putting together. I just plugged it in to listen to the fan noise and it isn't that bad. It's probably quieter than the fan in my PS 3.

I was planning on doing the fan mod that everyone talks about with the 2500, but now that I listen to it, I don't think I'll need to. In our new house that's being built, I think I will have the new sub at the back of the room. I think I might not even hear it from there.

Did Behringer recently switch to quieter fans?

I think they moved to a cooler running amp... Check out the PEAVY IPR line when you get a chance.

The IPR 1600 weighs 8lbs and the fan rarely comes on... Switch mode with Super MOSFet.

I spoke too soon. It must have just been loud at work when I initially listened to the fan, because when I brought it home and hooked it up, it was crazy loud. Guess I'll be doing the fan mod after all.

That literally made me laugh out loud.
