Denon EQ...

i ran the audessey eq. i like how detailed it is, having 2 run through it from 6 diff positions. i made a few tweeks after to fine tune for my ear. i need to double check my connections, its telling me the phase is off on 1 speaker. i switched it & it still said out of phase. ill make sure each is right...gotta make sure y-no!! but yeah well worth the deal..circuit city steal, last one at three stores near me in LA county. the onkyo left was out of box just couldnt do it...IT WAS DUSTY!!!

Whatever noise you heard came from the source, not the preamp. If the power amp had the same S/N for all channels, you didn't hear it from that, either. 107dB is inaudible unless your ear is extremely close to the speaker and you're in an extremely quiet room.
There were NO sources connected in all cases. And I think the manufacturer's numbers were too optimistic. Or maybe the components degrade over time. So a SNR of -100dB today may be -70dB in a few years?

Glad to hear you went with the Denon and you like it so far. I think you made the right decision, enjoy your new receiver.

I think Onkyo should offer a 5 yr warranty on their 876/906 models.

Would people buy more Onkyo if they did offer this 5 yr warranty?
