I am just wondering out loud, perhaps setting up a music server on my OSX desktop (and storing Atmos music content there), then accessing it through the HEOS app and wired ethernet LAN connections. Perhaps I will be able to access and decode Apple Atmos music content for playback? It would be great to find a way to access and playback without having to do a hardware upgrade. The receivers can handle it, just need to find a way to pipe it in.
Unless Apple comes out with Airplay 3 to handle the extra data of the Lossless Hi-Res and Atmos, and the current receivers are firmware upgradable to it.
A new AppleTV 4K would work over eARC, I understand. I doubt we will see a native Apple Music App for Visio TV’s, like they have for Apple TV, anytime soon.
