Hey everyone,
I have been reading these forums for a while now, but never posted. Alot of great info on here so I thank everyone for the knowledge I have gained from the site! Here is my dilemma.
I currently have a Denon avr-2807 that I just hooked up in my new living room. The room is about 16' x 16' and has a cathedral ceiling with 1 wall open to the kitchen.
My speaker setup is the Klipsch quintet III's with a PA-120 sub. I have ran the auto setup 3 times and the results are far from stellar. For some reason it sets my sub at -4db and the thing barely makes a sound. I also have an avr-687 and I am having the same issue with. My fronts/centers/rears sound good, but I have no low end. I hooked my sub up to my dads old sony 5.1 receiver and his entire house sounds like the walls are falling down. I hooked up my avr-687 at his house and the sub would barely rumble. It is like the low end sounds aren't being sent correctly to the sub.
I have been looking at getting something new since my luck with Denon has not been very good. I have been looking at the Pioneer Elite VSX-21TXH and some of the yamaha units but am still undecided. Unless I am missing something with the Denon setup I am lost. I am using the Audyssey EQ but I modified the channel levels to get some more sound. I have to turn the volume up to -15 or so before it gets loud.
Any help I can get is appreciated. I have been racking my brain trying to figure this out.
Thanks, Rich
