LEDs will not work as a strobe light as they are powered from a power supply and not the AC directly. I have the same problem with my Thorens TD 125 II. There are two solutions. The best is to use a strobe disc and get a fluorescent work lamp, and just set the speed when you need to. The other is to load the RPM AP on your cell phone.
