So I'm getting steamed about defective discs. I returned my first LOTR blu ray extended edition because one of the discs was bad. I exchanged it for another LOTR blu ray set from the store where I bought it and it has a bad disc as well,

. A few months went between buying the first set and exchanging it so I don't think it was just a bad batch of discs from the manufacturer that went to one store.
Same thing has happened to me twice with a criterion collection blu ray dvd and once with another blu ray disc.
So that's 5 bad discs in around 2 months. It could be that I just went through a streak of bad luck with discs but I suspect that the manufacturer's don't worry too much about the quality of their discs as long as they can make a buck.
