Should I down grade to the clr 2500 for my bp7002's or stick with the clr 3000. A guy said because the drivers are different it may not be the best and it may be a while before I can buy my longed for 7001's. What are your thoughts?
Always aim for the future. If you WILL get the 7001 or 7000 in the future, then absolutely get the 3000 NOW. Don't even think about the 2500.
Most speakers will do just fine for surround speakers, unless you just want overkill like me.
A lot of people think of keeping all the driver sizes the same - 1" tweeters, 6.5" midrange/bass.
Are you sure you want to keep the 7002 with the intention of making them Surround speakers?
Why not just wait a little and get the 7001 or 7000 + CLR3000 and get something that matches with their drivers for surrounds - BP10Bs or StudioMonitors 450s?
Not matching the drivers isn't really critical. It will still sound fine. But if you are going to spend that kind of MONEY, I would do it "RIGHT".
