great sub... had to send back the first one. had a bad bash amp... glue was all over the board. messy mass-produced work. new amp sent back is excellent. hsu had to drill bash or whoever that manufactures them.
this sub will fool you... you set it at 10 oclock and level 1 on your reciever and it's more than plenty. killer sub for the money!
Wow! You seem to have seen your part of problems Drake.
Same as me, my first sub's amplifier was extremely noisy (brand new too), so I order another amp to substitute it.
* Did you noticed the word I used, "SUBstitute".
HSU make some of the best subs around, and great value too.
My two 15" Def. Tech. subs are set at 9 o'clock (both on their Gain control), and my receiver sub level is at minus 12db (-12db).
Is that make them killer sub? Not at all. They are rather anemic in the low extension department (only 35hz at the very best!). That subs! I mean sucks!
I need a couple new subs. I would love to get a couple of SVS PB12-NSD, what you guys think? But the cost is $1,138 usd. And I live in Canada, so this is pretty much out of the question for me.
Any suggestion for a Canadian like me? Two subs (the same of course), easily available in Canada, great extension, great for music, great for movies, great value, great build, great looking, great driver quality, great power amp, great resolution, great tempo, great definition, great pitch, great dumping factor, ... I mean damping factor, great dynamics, great transients, great low distortion, great cabinet construction, great real wood, great features, great set of connections, great quality banding, I mean bending, oups! I mean binding posts, great gold plated RCA jacks, great phase control (0 to 360 degree in 0.5 degree step, great internal digital SEQ, great parametric or FIR or IIR filter EQ, great WAF, great WOOF, great OOM (no BOOM), great subfrequencies into the lower 1hz or close to it (and without any deviation from a straight horizontal line), great adjustments by remote control, great everything what. But I want to put an emphasis on the value side, say a budget of about $1,000 for both? If it's not too much asking.
Anyway I don't want to step out of topic here, so I'll cut it short, because there was much more stuff that I would have like to add, like a great thump in the chest factor, a great sensation of atomic blast from the response of the neighbours, and ...
