i thought 41 bucks for a custom power cord was so-so in price ... do you guys know of a cheaper alternative? (i don't DIY)

I might even spend $40 on a couple of those, they do look nice Mike.

yeah, those are either some fancy photography skills, or the details on those flex tubes are cool! :)

You may need to consult with an interior decorator.:D

oh, here's one more thing to help with the heart attack:

i'm also planning to get a power conditioner ... lol.
I remember a few years ago I spotted a Monster 2500 in somebody's system during an open-house. I thought that guy's system must sound heavenly. I don't remember the speakers or display, just the power conditioner. From the advertising I just knew that that was the key component. If he has that then everything else must be out of sight. :)

It took some doing but I found an eBay deal that offered a 1 year money back guarantee. Gene even reviewed one of them favorably. Back then I knew even less than now but one thing I knew for sure, I needed one of those. :D

Somewhere through the course of this thread I realized that I too need costom cable lengths and the way that I am going to get them is to cut the stock cable to length and throw a male end on it. Thanks for the epiphany. It's not that messy cables bother me so much as making cables neat really chills me out, kind of like fishing.

Those cords do look nice, I would vote for the multi color approach. $41/ cord is actually pretty cheap. You would have a very hard time to buying all the wire, liners, heat-shrink, and plug ends to DIY one cord and come in under that price. You would have to get everything in bulk and make about 100 PCs to hit that mark. I wound up spending about $80 to make two pairs of 9' speaker cables (just for cosmetic reasons) with no connectors. So IMO those are a pretty good deal.

Cheers

sucks that the APC deals on the AH store is only 110v. and APC doesn't have 220v versions in the Philippines

i'm gonna use it as a fancy looking power strip though
Couldn't you just put two in-line to make a 220v version?! :D

i especially like the king cobra color ... but don't know if it's a match to the equipment.

the red anaconda and blue ice are "cool"

reglatic red is a close 4th

brown viper is the 5th choice

so ... do i pick just two colors to use on the HT system wiring? (go for a theme) or go ahead and get more than 2 colors and use one color for each type of equipment i.e. PJ, receiver, amps, subs, etc.

I like this idea of custom cords not only will color coding be very beneficial but I like the idea of exact lengths as needed as it would surely help manage wires greatly.:)

King Cobra is very cool. You got a winner there.
Now, where's the carbon and kevlar imitation? That would be even better.

no queen cobra :)

but yeah, these are very visible :)
the 3 power cords for the front subwoofers are visible right when you open the room door.

good idea on the red / power amps. though most of my players are not IEC (that thingy) equipped.

Then do the subs in blue or the darker colors for that darker lows, or something:D Or the blue for that deeper blue feel:D

For proper inspiration, I think you ought to watch Kill Bill volumes 1&2. Deadly Viper Assassination Squad:
