Thankfully I do all my CL dealings on my college campus. Don't think anyone would pull a gun there.

I gave away my old refrigerator yesterday to a friend of mine because of concerns like this. I have too much here to feel comfortable inviting complete strangers here to look at something for a craigslist sale. The old microwave that I just replaced I'm taking to Salvation Army to donate. I rather write off the donation than mess with coordinating a meeting with strangers. Paranoid? Maybe, but I'm not interested in getting robbed.

The only CL or eBay local pick up deal I ever did in a parking lot was for a printer. Oddly enough the seller was a cop ... no Rick, the rest of The Village People weren't involved. The other half dozen or so deals all included me going to people's houses and that's the way I like it. If they knowingly defraud me I want them to have seen me face to face and I want them to know that I know where they live. So far I have not robbed, raped or murdered anybody. :)

I don't like buying stuff that I can't pick up locally ... at the person's house.

I had somebody come to my house once for a sale, since it was a comptuer speaker system and naturally the guy wanted to test em out. That went without issue, but I probably won't do it again.
