Component Video cable

The good news is that NomoSony, you're suggestion worked! I got the DVD player switched to component this way. The bad news is that the problem is still there. This leads me to the following conclusions:

1) Bad component cables (unlikely since I tried two sets of cables)

2) Bad component output on my DVD player.

3) Bad component input on my television.

I hooked it up bypassing the receiver and just straight to the television to eliminate other possibilities. I guess now I have to take my DVD player to a friends house to see if it is the television or not. Anyway, thanks for all the help. This forum is second to none!! I look forward to learning a LOT here!

Sorry, I thought maybe we had it beat.
Aside from the outside chance of having the colors of the wires crossed (I've done that) I'm at a loss.

NomoSony, serioulsy thanks for all you're help. I figure it has to be one of the three options I listed. I plan on taking my DVD player to a friends house this weekend to eliminate or prove the Television maybe. Anyway, thanks agian!
