no but I did watch the USC v. nd game and it was the best fb game i've ever seen!
ps
this is the first year i'm happy about the bcs can you imagine a rose bowl with USC v. any of the sorry big ten teams (USC 75 big ten 3)
I'd have to agree that the USC vs. Notre Dame game was much better. It is nice to see a couple offenses clicking like they were. It is rare to see this kind of execution in the college game which is why I normally stick to watching the pros.

Michigan games are a comedy of errors. One play at the end of a game doesn't make up for 4 quarters of mediocre football. I was switching back and forth, though, and the end of the Michigan game was fun to watch.

* I can rip on Michigan because it's my home state (see how that works!) :D

It was great to see you Friday at the jug.
Hey Jaxvon, really enjoyed meeting you too. I had begun to believe that the only people interested in good audio were all my age. Its good to know that at least some younger guys are the same.

WOW, whatta weekend....

It's now been a day and a half since Dan & I got back after driving 8+ hours from Ann Arbor where we were at the Michigan - Penn St. game. Dan, my brother is the Michigan alum, and he decided that I needed a taste of real Big 10 football. So back in the summer, we picked a home game and made plans to go. Back then we figured Penn St. might be weak, but what they hey, we wanted a home game before the weather in Ann Arbor got too cold.

Well the weather was perfect - clear and 71°. The Outback Steakhouse Blimp circled overhead. And the game was, well .... there were 111,000+ fans screaming their lungs out as the lead changed 5 times - twice in the last 3 minutes. Penn St. made their final TD taking a 25-21 lead with no time outs left and 53 seconds remaining on the clock. Michigan returned the kick off to about mid field and drove close to the end zone. During this process, when there were 28 seconds on the clock, Lloyd Carr had a game deciding parlee with the referees and got 2 seconds added to the clock. That turned out to be critical. And the rest is history - Michigan scored the final touch down on the last play of the game as time expired. Half an hour later, few people had left the stadium.

I have never heard anything so good as the Michigan band. All the good stuff they do occurs before the game and during the time outs and is never seen on TV. The Penn St. band (all 250 or so) were also there and they weren't too shabby either.

Wow, what a weekend! There is nothing like football at the Big House!

And at the same time, it's always fun to watch a slugfest that takes the contest down to the wire. That, and being at the Big House is an experience that is very unique.

As predicted! My beloved Oregon Ducks finished ranked #5 in the BCS and don't get into a BCS bowl. Lemme see....Notre Dame beats a whopping 3 teams with winning records..and two of them were Navy and Brigham Young. Whoopee. They get in with a lesser record. It's not enough they have their own tv network (NBC). They are a scourge. LOL, but sadly so. Go get 'em Buckeyes!!!!!

RJ,

Definitely no justice for the Ducks. I hope they embarrass Oklahoma on the 29th. At least it's on at 8pm Thursday night. It will be one of the several games I watch. The Ducks didn't get too much air time here in the midwest. Miami - LSU should be a good shootout, as well as Wisconsin - Auburn.

Can you guys believe LSU and VA Tech went down Saturday? Talk about disappointment! Florida State squeaking in to the Orange Bowl to play #3 Penn State baffles me. Unreal. They weren't even ranked last week! Now they're 22nd. I hope PSU manhandles them.

I think the issue with Notre Dame is that during the first eight games - 7 of the opponents were ranked teams. All the announders had written off ND to lose just about every one of those games except BYU.

It doesn't help that they have their own network, and that they are the Cinderella team of the year. I'd love to see OSU come out 41-3, but we're a defensive squad, and Quinn has over 3600 yrs and 32 TD's. Should be interesting. Maybe AJ Hawk will take him out early. ;)

Hawk is one hell of a player. Actually the whole linebacker squad for Ohio St. has looked great all season, but Hawk . . . that guy is just all over the place. Can't wait to see what pro team gets him. Right now I'm worried how UT's defense is going to hold up on January 4th. I think they're easily better than any defense USC has gotten to play this year. At least USC's offensive line is going to have to go up against guys their own size or bigger which is something they're not used to. Should make it interesting. Honestly I'll be happy as long as it's a good game. No shame if either team loses really, they're both so damned good this year. Thoughts?

Congrats on Hawk picking up the hardware. I look foward to OSU smashing ND.

I'd guess my Longhorns are happy those LB's are graduating and won't be in Austin for the rematch.

I'm all for playoffs. There were only 2 out of conference games nationally this year of good teams. Texas v. OSU and USC v. ND.

Texas has averaged holding opponents 12 points under their average and USC 10 under. That is a 2-3 point win for Texas.

Did you guys hear someone stole laptops, dvd's, and cash out of Mangold and Hawks room? It's all over the radio up here. Everyone is questioning why they had $2000 cash in their room just before Thanksgiving break. Man, there's so many well to do students up here at OSU, as well as these guys get scholarship money. The media is trying to make this into another Clarette rigamorale. Disappointing.

I'm pulling for Texas to wallup USC. I hope OSU beats ND, but I'm nervous about giving ND a month to prepare. Man, Weis was said to have aced his SAT's. Didn't miss one question. That guy's a genius. I think Tressel has his hands full this time around - not to mention avoiding the media.

Word on the Texas boards is the money was the 3 roomates savings and the travel money for the bowl game.

Texas had this same stuff when Cedric Benson's plasma was stolen. People forgot that he had money from his baseball contract.
