Looks like its velodynes budget line.

I wonder when HSU is coming out with their 10 hz monster.

Not sure I would give all that hype too much hope....

They are claiming a small enclosure, and if its a ported sub, that rarely equates to something that hits 10hz very easily...

I hope I'm wrong on this, but the laws of physics are hardly bendable..

Oh so true...

As much as we would like them to be, they are not.

Just because a sub can hit 10hz does not mean it will do anything better than anything else out there. It will totally depend upon what SPL it can generate that low and where that SPL is relative to its average output.

Every sub I own hits 10hz, it is just so low in SPL and frequency that I can't hear it. ;) :D

Back to the topic at hand, I think Mike C is correct on his assumptions about what they replace/how they compare.

i would think the starfire replaces the vx, the bass matrix the dls-r and the photon the spl-r?
well, since velodyne has also released a DEQ-R and Optimum series

i was a bit wrong on what i said above:

basically, the bass matrix is the cheaper version of the DLS-R and the DEQ-R is the improved version.

the photon is the cheaper SPL-R and the Optimum is the upgraded one

the Impact series is a new one i think (or maybe the updated VRP with a new 6" model with PR's)
