IMHO these two ladies are the best two artist to come out in a long time. I'd also put michele branch up there. They all aren't to bad on the eyes either.

I'm not a fan of their music, but I agree about them being fine. Aguilera has a fantastic voice, I just don't care for her brand of crappy pop (bear in mind I'm just an old 80's metalhead trying to adjust!
). Never heard Keys, aside from snippets flipping thru the channels.

I do want to mention, though, that Keys newest album is available on DVD-A. I consider it a very good sign when very popular mainstream new discs are released to Hi Res.

Although not the most soulful, Christina can sing. An engineer that I work with did a session with her, and what took her 10 minutes took an entire day for Brittney Spears (who unfortunately represents typical talent level these days).

Since we're talking about women, my two favorite artists right now happen to be Joan Osborne and Meshell. ALL of the young singers today can learn a lot from these two. Just watch Standing in the Shadows of Motown.

I would rather go with Alanis Morissete or PJ Harvey. I'm not into much of R&B but Alicia Keys is quite simply way ahead of what Christina Aguilera has accomplished (or possibly can). She can sing, but what she's singing now is barely music. And Whatever did happen to Joan Osborne? I haven't heard of her since that one song EVERYONE know about:)
