I am adjusting DEQ with music type now: new stuff at 15dB, old recordings at 0dB because the treble falls apart at 15dB. It's a little fiddly, but not too bad, it's only a few clicks into the menus.
I haven't found out how to set it for each input type, but I only use one input.
It would be good to be able to configure each music type as set by the remote, but I don't think that's possible.
Sorry I wasn't clear, the input type thing may not work for you if you use the same input say Blu Ray player for both movies and music. Even if you have a second music player, since it is just one player to play music, then if you set that input to 15, all you music will still be 15 because it is still the same input. Just as an example, I could do the following.
Input 1 - CD player for my old classical music CDs.
Input 2 - Universal player, e.g. Oppo 105, for SACD, DVDA, USB, streaming etc.
Input 3 - BR player for movies only.
Input 4 - Fibre TV
Input 5 - Another BR, DVD, CD or universal player for jazz and pops
Input 6 - Apple TV for Netflix and video
Then you can set different offsets for each input. I am not 100% sure the SR7009 does it on per input basis but you can find out very easily by setting one input, say your BR player to 0 and your TV (fibre, Sat etc.) to 5 and then go back in the menu to find out if both settings are there per input.
I really like your idea, if it can be done on per music type and on the remote it would be great, but we may have to wait for a long time before that happens, if ever..
You can do it from you laptop, mobile using the App

I suppose, but that doesn't really help at all.
