Choosing a NEW receiver!

Im looking into buying a new receiver.. Heres what i want in a receiver:

1. Money isnt an issue...
2. i want at least 4 hdmi inputs, i dont need upscaling, im just going to use hdmi.
3. I want it to decode hd audio.
4. I plan on running some speakers like the polk audio monitor 70's or infinty alphas.
5. I was planning on getting the onkyo 606, but i found out it only has 95watts per channel...

I would go with a Denon 5308CI if money is not an issue.

If money is not an issue then yes the 5308ci, RX-11 or the SC-09 would be the choices.

Now if $5000+ is out of your range then look at the 3808 that ParadigmDawg has, Onkyo 806/876/906 or Pioneer SC-05.

There are also some great deals on the 08 models like the Onkyo 875, Pioneer 94 or the Yamaha 3800. I don't know if these all have 4 HDMI inputs.

What size room do you have? Also if money is not an issue why not separates?

That's what I was thinking.

But I was also thinking, if money is not an issue why limit yourself to Polk or Infinity. Get out there and do some serious speaker shopping. Choose your speakers first, then choose processing you want and the amplification you need to drive them properly.

Incidentally, 95 watts per channel is more than enough for the very vast majority of home audio installations. Actually, 30 watts per channel is fine for most.

Actually, if money is NOT an issue I would opt for a pre/pro and an outboard amp. More specifically, I would look into the new components from Outlaw Audio or Emotiva. There are others out there as well.

Haha...I wonder if OP is rethinking the 'money isn't an issue' comment...
He's looking at ~$700 speakers and is getting recommendations for receivers quite a bit more...
Anyway, as mentioned earlier I wouldn't be too concerned with the 95 watts of the Onkyo. If it meets your needs otherwise give it a try. The difference between a 110 watt receiver and 95 watt is not going to be much.

It is hard to find a lot of receivers with 4 HDMI, especially under $1000. I might suggest looking at a Yamaha 1800- http://www.yamaha.com/yec/products/productdetail.html?CNTID=558291&CTID=5000300
It's last years model, so you can find them at a pretty good discount now, in the $700 range. Otherwise a Marantz 7002 has 4 HDMI and can be found for around $1000 or less if you look around hard enough. Going with a older model top of the line receiver might be the way to go in this case, especially if you do not want/need upscaling.
