On patrol in southern Baghdad...

Gave a kid a dollar and he told us about a house where IED's were coming out of. We get there the guy takes off, Beast gets her first find....9 RPG's in a potatoe sack....

That is a horrific photo of S. Bagdad. Is anyone living there? How's the temperature (or I should ask - how hot)?

Are any of the guys in your unit into HT or cars? That would definitely make the days go a bit quicker.

Seeing it isn't enough, you have to smell this place to get the whole effect. Raw sewage running down the side of the roads. We were in a poor neighborhood but there are worst ones around.

It's hanging around mid to high 90's right now which itself isn't so bad, it's the dang humdity(Arziona doesn't have humdity) that get's me.

Nah, not really. I room with the other 2 handlers but we are all into movies. The blackmarket for them over hear is crazy, they get them as soon as they hit the theaters.

I bought the logitech Z4 2.1 setup for my laptop and a 500gb external HD. We also just got a chipped Xbox that has a ton of games already on it and will play just about any format DVD. I do have internet in my room as of this afternoon too so I can download the rest of this season of Lost.

I have some more pics I'll upload here soon, so keep an eye on this thread.

Insurgents at there best.....

So we get mortared and a couple rockets here weekly, well this past week there is a guy at the gate with some severe burns to his....errr....torso area. Apparently his aim wasn't very good when he is striking these mortars with a rock cause now he has a roasted set of nuts due to the backblast.

This place never ceases to amaze me....

LOL, I see I wasn't very clear on that(I wrote that at 3:30 this morning) No, he showed up at the gate seeking medical aid from the same people he's trying to blow up.

Well they may be roasted, but he's certainly got a large "set" to seek help from the same folks he's trying blow up. Sheesh!

Where are you stationed? You said you were in Baghdad but had one more move till you get to your assigned post. A good friend of mine just got to Basra...on the first night he got there (last Friday)...he was welcomed by two rocket attacks. Its a mad, mad, mad, mad world. Thanks for your service. If you can, post some more pics! Hope your doing well and staying safe. Give the beast my best and a milkbone from Uncle LambFries! (or considering last nights events...you could give the Beast, Insurgent Fries)

Im at FOB Rustamiyah. I'm not sure what happened to the guy, don't know if he was handed over to the Iraqi Police or was taken to a U.S Detention Fauclity.

I have some more pictures to download but I have misplaced my cable to my camera atm and I just can't drive over to a Wal-Mart and get a replacement.

Sorry for the lame pics, can't take any of the camp itself for security reasons and all my missions so far have been at night. The guys kinda hate camera flashes while wearing nightvision.

Well, she thinks she owns the bed. She has a habit at night of pushing against the wall to remove my legs from the bed.
