Dunno, but my understanding is that they had to implement something for the EEC market that satisfy their stricter regulations on energy consumption.

Yeah that part I understand (we have limitless energy so we wouldn't have such here ). I just wonder how it actually works....maybe Denon can provide specifics?

Well that guy in the avs thread did write rather than phone, maybe the tech people would answer....I wouldn't waste the time on the phone with customer service guys.
