Seth....so you believe the Belkin is actually as good or even better?(any of these options are doable as they are all small and mostly unobtrusive and their prices are all very good)

Yes, I believe Belkin is a pretty solid product. I haven't dealt with them on the insurance thing, so I can't say on that front.

Oh come on!!!!:D

You can't tell me you've never heard of snake oil getting into the surge protector business. I see no reason at all why someone should spend that much on something that is inferior simply because it costs more (naturally higher cost means better:rolleyes:).
Snake oil is everywhere. Spending more doesn't mean better quality. But I'll bet the farm that your suggestion was the most affordable. :D I'm not knocking it. :) I like my suggestion 'cause Rickster71 recommended it as an electrician and it's made by Levitron (sp?) and it fits in the wall as MDS suggested.

So long as you don't buy a Monster your doing fine.

My only concern is that I've always heard that many blow their fuse instantaneously when any decent sized surge hits, so they are worthless.
That's why I keep asking is this or that good enough.

anything that bad would likely cause more isues than just your tv, and might fall under homeowners insurance.

That list leaves me more confused.
Okay. I've been holding out. Actually here is a thread that I subscribed to because I thought it had info that I might want to referance at some point in the future. I'm assuming you know that the fellas who post and have a ton of those little green things generally know what they are talking about. One of my personal favorites is MDS. Here's the thread:

Seth....you had advised earlier to get a suppressor up to 4000joules.
Most of the ones I'm seeing, including the Belkin and Tripplite's, are 600 to 1050joules?
