Energy Connoisseur Reference!

Hey guys, what info can you scope out for me on the surround speakers in the newly intro'ed Connoisseur Reference line at the Energy booth? I am building a room as we speak and these sound like excellent options for a room with muliple rows! Thanks.

PS if you could get some pricing on the entir eline up too, that would rock, thanks.

I would like to see the new STATUS ACOUSTICS line. Daren Egan has informed me that they should be on display at CES. Could you check them out?

I don't understand, is Audioholics promoting this aparently "snake oil" cable or what?; i remember that using batteries and freezing cables was one of the top ten things that i should be aware off. I ask this because the cable is announced using the word "Audioholics" in its name. I don't know, for a moment i tought i was in the "twilight zone".

The Samsung uber-receiver looks pretty cool. Finally! I asked here in the forums several months ago who'd be the first to shoehorn some 200 Watt+ digital amp modules into a flagship-type model...Who'd have guessed it would be Samsung? 250 x 7? With ICEPower modules, you really can do this and probably not have to pad the specs very much.

I wonder how it sounds? And I wonder if there'll be cheaper models that still offer some of that for less $?

Knowing Samsung, the cheaper models are already in the works.

That Samsung Flagship receiver looks impressive. I find it amazing how Samsung has, in a little over five years, gone from the worlds finest purveyor of electronic junk to making some of the worlds finest electronics. Amazing.

They are still working out the details on the cabinet finish. So there were no demo models displayed at CES this time around. I did catch a glimpse at a prototype cabinet and it looks really cool. I think this will be worth the wait for sure. Stay tuned....

Yes it does, and most importantly they appear to have a solid power supply design to pull off the digital amps correctly. You don't need a speaker with a constant impedance crossover for this amp section to function well. We already arranged for reviewing this receiver and you can rest assured we will be putting it through its paces.

Please make sure you check our main CES Page link daily as we are continuallly updating it regardless if we don't post new stuff on the homepage. Time is limited so we post when we can until the show is over.

I can't wait until someone takes this seriously! You should have included a price. Considering the materials and workmanship, and of course all the research that went into making these cables, I'm thinking around $550 a meter?
We had several people tell us we need to assign a price tag on this. My idea was to charge a reasonable price for the cable itself and charge through the roof for the GLOB accessories which must be changed out daily for maximum performance :)

What do you think guys?

Another great product to check out is the Dakiom feedback stabilizers www.dakiom.com ......Have you had time to check out those Alpha Line Source speakers from GR-Research yet?

More coverage....

Just a heads up that I'm posting stuff today live from the show floor... I may not front page everything, but it's on the CES page so keep refreshing to see the new stuff. DVDO processing kicks butt... working on showing you the latest info on Blu-ray and HD-DVD as well - stay tuned...

Did the RBH CinemaSITE have the center speaker built in as well, or just the mains ? That's a sweet-looking package !

It has the center built in as well, slightly tilted up at the listening position. The center, like the main speakers can be SI-6100s, SI-760s, or SI-740s. One of the neat things about it it the ease of installation, they have channels cut into the wood so that the RBH Sound in-walls are literally slid in and dropped securely in place from behind.

Denon 3806?

Any rumors about a 3806 in 2005? I wonder if it will have HDMI inputs/Outputs. Maybe firewire also.

Digital Std Def TV's

An article in the SF Chronicle describes the above as a product by TTE Corp, a combination of Thompson (France) and TCL(China) that presented "a $300 27" digital tv set that displays a standard-definition picture at a higher resolution than a comperable analog set." Has this been done before? I remember a Toshiba deinterlaced tv 20 years ago but the picture wasn't super and the tv was analog.
An off topic curiosity.
