Ceiling mount recommendation?

roughly 15 ft to viewers eyes. 2nd row is a shade less than 6ft further back. I thought I'd do something like 120", but after I threw the pic on the blank wall for a solid week, I just had to get the biggest I could fit.

Everyone I ask in regards to immersion says they would not change a thing.

bigger is better. the only downside is forcing the center to be too close to floor. (avoiding THIS would be the best benefit of anamorphic, IMO, of course giving up supersized 16:9 in the process. always a give and take). chesty muddled midbass. though it's sitting directly on a treatment, with a bunch of absorption nearby, it's very far from ideal. Maybe one day I can get one of those multi thousand dollar BW centers designed for the floor, top mounted tweeter to boot. Oh well.

I dont think you need all that, though its nice to own B&W. All you need is a good center stand that gives you much desired flexibility. I too had the same problem with my center, it sounded nasty, though turned upside as the manual said was possible when on the floor, it just didnt do it for me. I suggest the the Lovan M2 Center stand, its made on a low profile for those of us with PJ setups, and you can aim it dead center the "sweet spot" for the perfect balance in your audio. I love it, the glass is very nice and thick, comes in smoked or clear, and the included spikes keep the glass off floor. Holds my Polk CSi5 with no probs. Pics included.

No. Not for me anyways. Typically, when you have a horiz center like that even withing just 2 feet of the floor, you will excite midbass that will indeed mask dialogue frequencies.

Not only is your speaker too close to the floor boundary, it's probably to close to the front wall boundary as well. I could at least give mine a few feet from front boundary. I have 80+ lbs of absorption on the floor there, and I was even thinking of adding great amounts of acoustical cotton to boot, hidden under the black rugs.

As is my center is already as high as yours. Of course it's angled as well.

The top mounted tweeter design of BW allows any lobing to be below the critical dialogue freq passband. Unlike with your Polk or my PSB. (my rows are 4 seats wide).

Oh ok JM, got ya. During installation I had soundproof padding laid down before the carpet went in. I have no problems with my SQ in my room. I run a SC07 Elite that takes care of my audio/video very well.

Thanks lsiberian. I made some fine adjustments in my own setup this weekend. Pulled my center forward online with my fronts and broke out the good ole tape measure to make sure everything was equidistant. All is well, not sure why I had it so far back near my screenwall.

No motor, no fancies... but it does work. You must tighten hardware fully for it to stabilize, otherwise you can get vibrations pretty easily.

my sales rep dude at PP says I could just have custom cuts of 1.5" threaded pipe cut for me at Home Depot plumbing. Much cheaper I suppose, just swap out the different lengths of pipe. Dunno... convenience does have its importance ...


any thoughts, opinion, and/or warnings before I pull the trigger, most likely this week? Do a different route? Is that ceiling mount all I really need? Cheers, and thanks again guys.

I like that mount. It give you a lot of flexibility with projector positioning.

The biggest issue I have with brackets has been flexibility to adjust the projector to the right or left of center. The projector you have today may have a center mounted lens. The one you buy in a couple years may be located toward one side. Having a universal bracket that offers full adjustment in all directions can be a plus in the future. If you're like me, you don't want to put new hole in every time you upgrade.

my PJ is black, but the ceiling is white. All three pieces come in either black, silver, or white. What do I do? Black projector mount I suppose, but what about the pipe and ceiling mount? White for the ceiling mount since the ceiling is white?

I got a return msg from the PP fella, and he said the same thing.

I have an AV friend who I might be going with to do some shopping (wholesale I think, or something; he wants to introduce me to the sellers as well).

And there's nothing wrong with that at all Congrats on the purchase, and as mentioned it should hold you a very long time and will still be fine when you upgrade the JVC. Speaking of which have you seen those insane deals on the Pio FPJ1, $2800 for basically the RS2 clone.

I still haven't ordered yet. I think I will today. I have another mono hdmi and speaker wire on the way, so I can relocate my rack to the rear, where I'll fish the wires.

Congrats, you can see those prices in videogon, ebay, and dealers that carry the item and ye this is due to Pio getting out of market. But talk about " bang for buck".
