I didn't follow the trial at all - if the prosecution didn't prove she was guilty beyond any reasonable doubt, then they should have done better :/

As a father of two children (daughters) and a resident of Florida, I am sickened by the verdict. What makes it even worse is that Casey is now a celebrity and likely soon to be rich over the death of her innocent child. Watch her get a book/movie deal and possible Reality TV show off of this. Only in America

First OJ and now this! ...worse than the OJ verdict IMO.
I am sick to my stomach with this verdict. The justice system let down Caylee today. This was obvious 1st degree murder IMO.

Prosecution overreached. Should have tried her for manslaughter only. Trying to prove motive when they didn't have how or who only muddled the waters. If they just said, we don't know if she wanted her daughter to die but she made a horrible decision trying to use chloroform to knock her daughter out which ended up killing her and she tried to cover it up and she needs to pay, I am sure they would have probably won the case. They just went too far and I know its easy, but I blame the media. They would have roasted the prosecution if they didn't go for murder one, but in our system you have to take what you can get, not what you know is right. If we had 24 cable news back when Al Capone was around he wouldn't have ever done time because the media wouldn't allow them to charge a well known mass murderer with tax evasion. They had enough to put her away for 30-50 years without any real airtight evidence on simple manslaughter but focused almost entirely on her character which blew the case.
That said, You can't convince me she didn't kill her kid and its a travesty.

I just don't get how the jury could not see this as murder. They didn't even see it as a lesser charge as manslaughter either. Mind boggling.
A 2 year old found rotting in the woods with duct tape wrapped around it's mouth and nose can and only be one thing and that is murder. They had forensic proof, motive, there is only person that can be tied to ALL the evidence in this death of a child.
Casey's aunt was just on tv quoting that the verdict was appalling. Wow!

Perhaps prison justice will be done, assuming that female inmates view child killers the same way that I've heard male inmates do.
Either way, I doubt she comes out four years from now as pretty as she went in.

I thought the prosecution proved all those things in court especially in their closing arguments tying it all together with her behaviour, motive and why she was lying to police, "the 31 days", that it was murder, who murdered her. What bugs me is because of her lying to police gave time for the body to decompose to nothing just leaving skeletal remains which helped the defense a lot it seems.What? Didn't the media prove all those things?

If a prosecutor goes for a murder conviction, they better know exactly who did it, when, where, how and why. If not, they had better be able to convince a jury with weak evidence or go for a lesser charge.
Regardless of her guilt/innocence, this is America and when people like Nancy Grace decide to go on a crusade to make sure we all know that someone is guilty without benefit of a trial, many will be outraged by the verdict even thought they aren't aware of the facts. Grace should be canned and CNN should at least make a public apology. The only thing Grace and CNN offered was a media circus. If Anthony is smart and wants to just fade away, she'll go after Nancy Grace/CNN for defamation of character and all that goes with it to get the big money. She offers nothing else, from what I can see although, being America, we all know she'll do the talk show circuit and be a big star from now on.
All day, every day coverage of a trial? That's ridiculous! It's a tragedy that her daughter died horribly but this kind of exposure isn't necessary.

Sorry but putting duct tape on a kids mouth, driving around with the dead body in a car for nearly a month while partying and whoring as the body decomposed and then burying her corpse near her parents house are not the actions of an "accident" or "panic". Waiting 31 days to file a missing child report is beyond neglect or abuse. The defense lawyer did a great job using smoke and mirror tactics to shift the focus of these heinous acts. The Prosecution team was incompetent. The media coverage only served further to break down the process of true justice being served for the only person that mattered in this case, the innocent dead child whose body was treated with less respect than last weeks trash.

I saw this in a headline and it really rings true in many cases, "Not guilty is not the same as innocent." This was a capital punishment case and there has to be zero possibility of reasonable doubt to give someone the death penalty. The prosecution went for it all when they should not have.
Of course, lesser charges would have been easier to prove with the media being outraged that they were not going for the death penalty in this case. I really do believe the media hurt the prosecution and played into how they charged her and how they delivered their case. From what I have read, the jurors all were left with too many holes to condemn someone to death. A circumstantial case is difficult to convict on. Key pieces of evidence were missing.
Personally, the OJ trial was an easier verdict. I mean, seriously, OJ tried to put a glove on with his fingers spread apart (if memory serves me right)! Who puts on a glove that way?!

Sorry but you don't know nor can you prove any of those things. You have a gut feel that it could only have been the mother and want to see her punished for it.
A child is dead. The mother may or may not have had anything to do with it. Nobody knows and nobody can prove it.
I'm not going to comment further.
