The world of 'Hot Rodding' has lost another one of its legends........

Quite simply, if you didn't know Ed or know of him, you were not a 'car guy', I'm sure he's working on a new 'grind' in heaven already, RIP ...........

Icy roads and someone decides to back up again on the junction cause presumably they missed their turn. I ended up taking the exit cause wow there's no shoulder in the right lane. Thankfully I had 30-40 yds to spare to make a decision. I still think this is totally bonkers and its just never occurred to me to stop. Unreal.

Probably gonna be a while. They'll want a few quarters of record profits first.

I stopped buying vehicles in the Milwaukee area- last time, I needed a cargo van for the business and everything here was rotted and filthy, so I looked in Arizona, where I have friends. Found a very clean 2005 Astro with 78K miles, had my friend who worked at GM check it out, sent the money and he drove it to his place before he picked me up at the airport. Took it to his friends' body shop so I could use the lift and changed oil/filter, belt/tensioner/idler, checked out brakes/general condition and then took it to some of his friends for trans flush/filter/oil analysys and cooling system flush/refill. That was in March, 2011 and after 15 years in Milwaukee salt, etc, the body is in much better condition than a typical Astro, especially considering its 289K miles. Runs great, it's not a bucket of bolts and rides great.

The previous vehicle was a 1990 Silverado that I bought in 2001, same deal- made it road-worthy and drove it for 11 years. Besides, it's a good road trip and I get to see my friends when I go there.

Interesting that they're calling it an LS6.
Chevy has revived old nomenclature quite often. What's interesting is the first iteration of the LS6(454) was in 1970 and for the first time Corvette did not get that motor option(limited to SS Chevelle) , top dog that year for the Corvette was the LS5

Last year while attending my cousins memorial service for her husband we rented a Chrysler 'Pacifica', one of the nicer rental car experiences I've had in a long time. FWIW CR does not give it the best reliability marks.
