The drivers voices were cool but since when is Bob Costas associated with Nascar? The Michael Schumacher/Ferrari connection was great.
Not all the voices were well placed :D The one voice I found a bit out of place was Owen's actually...

At first I wasn't sure, but that was pretty funny. If you watch the scene where they are looking back at the "old days", they are listed as a tourist attraction on the map when they are showing the new route for the interstate.

I have to agree with Duffinator, Bob Costas and NASCAR, where is the connection there? I actually liked Owen's characterization of Lightning. I felt he did a good job portraying a showboat out for his out glory.

I agree that this was not PIXAR's strongest film. But it is still way better than any of the other animated flicks out there. Can't wait to see and hear the DVD (it will be Christmas at my house). I agree that Incredibles is the best PIXAR to date, but even a "bad" PIXAR flick is better than most "good" Dreamworks, etc....

They get it!!!

I did find it funny that the lesson Hudson was trying to teach him was drifting. :D

It wasn't his characterization, it was his actual voice that didn't work for me. I kept thinking Shanghai Noon and Zoolander... :p

Back in the 50's, when the Hudson Hornet was pisston cup champion, it was known as a power slide.

birdonthebench, you got that nailed. Pixar gets it and the others are trying to catch up.

Just watched it at home on our upstairs system. (4yo daughters birthday gift)

Awesome effects, we saw it at the theatre and my Onix X series, Sony AVR, Toshiba HDDVD and Sammy 3251 display totally whooped it...Dont know why I ever bother going to the theater.

The track is EX, so your receiver is detecting it correctly.

Yeah, when Disney starts releasing the Pixar stuff on Blu Ray those will probably be some amazing titles - Finding Nemo and The Incredibles should look great.

My four year old still hasn't tired of it. I know it by heart. I'm tired of it.

I saw it once and that was almost enough, at least I didn't have that feeling that I needed to watch it again anytime soon compared to most of their other movies, though I will almost certainly double dip on this one because I know the BD will look amazing.

I played it on my new LCD (not mine, but I get to play with it) on 480P.

DAYMN! It looks sweet. The Reds are a bit bright, but the TV hasn't been calibrated.
