I saw $7.25 in some places so not real sure where I'm going with that one. California's is $16.50 for minimum wage. I remember about five years ago a place or people were asking to move it to $20. That was crazy back then. Before the Ford strike some of those people were making the same wage as I, and I didn't have to pay union dues LOL. I believe they settle on a 25% increase over a 3-4 year period. So guess I'm confused what the merit of a minimum wage is if in some places it's still $7.25 LOL Let alone if the employer could even find employees.
Minimum wage is $20 for food service workers here already.

Why there's a minimum wage.
There was a time, in Australia, when the Unions were strong, that the minimum wage was defined as the minimum living wage, for a man to support a wife and children at a minimum decent living standard.

That is what the minimum wage should be defined by a "Living wage" - if the wage is so low it cannot be lived on, then it is not a wage, it is the support cost to maintain your slaves/serfs.
