Capitalism and the slow collapse of the USA

I saw $7.25 in some places so not real sure where I'm going with that one. California's is $16.50 for minimum wage. I remember about five years ago a place or people were asking to move it to $20. That was crazy back then. Before the Ford strike some of those people were making the same wage as I, and I didn't have to pay union dues LOL. I believe they settle on a 25% increase over a 3-4 year period. So guess I'm confused what the merit of a minimum wage is if in some places it's still $7.25 LOL Let alone if the employer could even find employees.
Minimum wage is $20 for food service workers here already.

Why there's a minimum wage.
There was a time, in Australia, when the Unions were strong, that the minimum wage was defined as the minimum living wage, for a man to support a wife and children at a minimum decent living standard.

That is what the minimum wage should be defined by a "Living wage" - if the wage is so low it cannot be lived on, then it is not a wage, it is the support cost to maintain your slaves/serfs.

It seems that way, don't We all work for the man? Rich or poor, paying electric, water property taxes etc? We All in this modern age are slaves to the power and water companies.

I guess only people Rich enough to retire and live on their current money are actually wealthy. Everyone else is stuck working regardless of pay. Some Rich people are terrible at finance and go bankrupt and lose everything but that’s another topic altogether. That doesn’t give them an excuse to create a permanent underclass of working poor, actually yeah it does in America /usa because it’s legal. Some people call it crony capitalism , but it’s closer to the ancient Roman system or feudal Europe in wealth disparity .

yeah if you look up what a wage slave is it’s someone dependent on wages to survive and live on. Anyone making less then that amount I don’t know what class they would be or title probably lower than a slaves/serfs because they were typically guaranteed a home of there owners unlike the homeless who get nothing. It would be something of a underclass and many people in America are stuck with student loans for jobs that didn’t pan out or exist in the fist place. So if your working a low paying job and paying these loans off at the same time you’re essentially making nothing until there paid off. In the USA you could be homeless and working a low pay job at the same time because the job itself doesn’t pay the cost of living.

Absolutely amazing how your new (after 6 years unemployed) part time gas station job has turned you into an armchair economic expert all of a sudden.
All while you are being paid twice pre-covid wages for the same unskilled job.

Having to start paying your student loans instead of buying new audio equipment must really burn your ass.
(they are going to take your tax returns too)

Everyone here and on AVS (where you post nonsense nonstop) has already paid their basic economic dues, and now share what they like to do with the money they have left over.

You chose the course you are on...not society, not the government, not a feudal lord.
Sucks, doesn't it ?

I hear that. I pay 6k for property tax. That’s not even bad compared to others close by.
