Maybe he had two types of cartridges ... that moving magnet and that other one.

The horn speakers sounded very strange to me with a 12" woofer and a large horn tweeter. I didn't stay long enough to try to figure out what I thought might be wrong with them, or ask the price. I was not impressed.
The guy in that room was a lot more interested in demoing his jazz records than telling me anything useful about the speakers. He did mention that his 15 watt SET amp was way too powerful for the speakers.
