Hi Everybody
I have Sony Audio Receiver STRDG520 and I wish to Know If Is Possible to connect any tape recorder to record my favorite music from satellite receiver or from the CD Player. This Receiver has not “ Rec Outputs” only It has on video section 2 audio out jacks. I tried it but I did not receive sound. Can I have any way to record on this receiver?
Thanks in advance:)

Hi. Are your CD player and satellite receiver connected to the receiver using digital audio connections? If so, my guess is that the receiver isn't converting the digital input signal to an analog output at the VIDEO AUDIO OUT terminals. There may also be some copyright protection involved, but the lack of digital-to-analog conversion for those outputs is my first guess.

If that is how you have it connected, try connecting the CD player and/or satellite receiver to the Sony using analog connections and then try again to record from the VIDEO AUDIO OUT terminals. I think that the CD player has a lower probability of having copyright protection issues, so I'd recommend trying that one first.

I tried to connect the CD player(Thru Jacks Red-White), Satellite receiver(Thru Optical) and DVD player(thru Digital Coax) and Only I am getting music from CD Player. So I think that the Adam answer is true. I did reach to Sony support and they recommend to me to connect on Video section the audio inputs and outputs and I am getting the sound from satellite receiver but the sound is too low is not enough to record.I asked to Sony Support if any receiver on the market is available to rec my favorite music and the answer was Not(No one Sony receiver isn't converting the digital input signal to an analog output at the VIDEO AUDIO OUT terminals)..Now My Question is what about the others Brands I have seen some audio receivers with Rec outputs. These receivers can convert the digital signal to analog outputs??

I believe that some models from Denon receivers do.

Hey At least I found another way to record on My receiver; I connected one cable: 1/8" (3.5 mm) stereo jack at one end at one RCA (phono) jacks on the other with the extension to 1/4",From A/V receiver to my cassette player recorder and I am able to rec good music with good quality from the A/V receiver (Satellite receiver,DVD and Cd Player;)
