hey guys
hope this doesn't sound dumb, but as I have stated on the forums before, I have an older house (1937)
the structure, frame, foundation etc are solid, but the windows in the living room are the same windows that have been there for almost 80 years now. The room is on the large side of medium (2700^3 feet) but I've found the best placement for my current sub is in a corner near one of the windows... if I upgraded to an SVS sb2000 would there be any risk of a broken window?

Ever heard of an spl competition? I think if someone can load a dozen subs in an SUV and crank them up full volume without shattering the windshield, you're probably fine with any single sub you choose for your much larger space for volumes that don't require ear protection. Go for it.

You'll be fine, go ahead and pull the trigger.

No no my good man you need 160+ db at a stupid low frequency such as 8-20hertz.

I personally always enjoyed trying.

And cracking plaster or window caulk? That's just a sign of subwoofer manhood! :D

Seriously, I have no life.

Be very careful with this.
Check with those competitors to see if the car has stock glass in there or beefed up.

Not going to pull the trigger yet, still waiting for my EMP's to ship... Probably in 6 months.

Stock glass I happen to be friends with a lot off bass heads. Cars that do 150db daily and never broken a window.

With loud volume on heavy action films, I can stand outside and look at my windows at just the right angle, and see them flexing with the bass. A bit alarming at first... now just cool. You can do an internet search w/ "bass window flex", and find extreme examples. Somehow I don't think you plan to approach those levels with an SB2000.
