That more a cable quality when my speaker cuts out occasionally? They were pretty cheap to buy. Also here a humming every now and then. I'll unplug them and reconnect or twist them around. Sometimes that works. It's not really a consistent problem though.

Doubt that is a speaker cable problem. Speaker cables are easily tested with a multi-meter.

A cable cannot cause hum, it's just a metallic conductor. It only carries electricity and hum that would originate from a defective electric, electronic equipment or inadequate chassis or cable grounding.

Doubtful. If bare wire connections as it sounds like, make sure you don't have stray strands or something along those lines. Were the cables cheap or the speakers?
