Brotherly advice for outdoor antenna?

My brother has had great luck with the Terk TV55.

He is in a rural area at least 40+ miles from some of the broadcast towers and he gets all the available HD stations in our area. He is even pulling some from outside our area.

It is not a cheap antenna but it works very well.

Hi annunaki,
I been looking at that Terk for a while.
Where does your brother have it mounted?
I thought about my attic, but wondered how the power supply would deal with the summer heat.

Here is the antenna I installed:

I put it on top of this:

The rotator is a nice little bonus. It makes a difference for some of the channels.

Wal-Mart: the electronics store for the poor living in rural areas.

I had one of those for about five years.
I took it down, I was always worried it was going to be hit by lighting.
That is, after the house two doors down was struck.

Lightning does strike the high spots.

It is important to have the things grounded.

It is mounted outdoors on the North East side of his home along the trim of the overhang.

I do not believe there is a power supply that I was aware of. It uses a passive amplifier.

All I know is it works extremely well. None of the stations break up and digitize.
