Everyone has overlooked that even from a young age she was surrounded by press and media. I think that can take a toll on someone, no?

I don't condone her actions, and think she is stupid, but you have to admit she didn't have a nice quiet upbringing like most of us did.

Not guilty!:)
That is why I posted what I did earlier:
"Though with her resource$, handlers, managers, etc.; she should've been under psychiatric care, or seeing a life coach, many years ago."

Right, just like you huh? You would hang on to every penny and spend most of it needlessly. I would to, but the difference is I recognize it.
I didn't say I would. I wouldn't give a penny but I also would not complain. There are plenty of people in the public eye who don't constantly whine. And some of these people don't even have loads of money.

The majority of the world lives much worst than an average person in a first-world country. There are people being annihilated, people starving, people homeless, etc... If we're having nervous breakdowns even when we have so much, we're getting soft in this country. No, I'm not Republican :p

It's a sad day when Kevin Federline looks like a model parent.

She needs years of therapy to straighten out but she nor her many handlers will let that happen. You would think her family would step in but they don't strike me as the "circle the wagons" type.

Well, for all the nasayers and witchhunters out there :)p) so quick to jump on the band wagon, the latest scoop is that Britney was not (and will not be) charged with anything, was not under the influence of anything (she apparently had a series of drug tests at the hospital), and the police have no comment on this latest debacle.

Whatever her bag is, it is not drugs, and it is not criminal. I believe it must be something that warrants/necessitates professional treatment (psychologic or psychiatric). No understanding, no sympathy from the peanut gallery? None at all?

I don't disagree, but I think a good amount of that coverage was sought after- probably with a good amount of parental "pushing". Anybody else remember the scantily clad 1999 Rolling Stone cover that she did @ 17 years old? As a 20 year-old myself at the time I certainly appreciated it :), but should it have been done in such a manner? As a parent, would you let your daughter pose like that @ 17 on a national magazine?

From that moment on, the press realized that there's nothing off limits with Britney, and she never did anything to dispel that theory.

Agreed. I would not want my daughter to be seen like that. But what if it was done with the promise of kicking off a 100 million dollar career?...I think it was done in that vein. Would you then so easily discard that scantily clad 17 year old imagery? And c'mon, it wasn't that scant, at least not by American standards, was it? That's not to say anything for money, but that video certainly started her career off with a kick, didn't it? And despite your disapproval (and mine) on a personal level...you remember it....and you're talking about it now...9 years later. I call that effective marketing. And that was their whole point, was it not? Seems like it worked.

Either way, if her actions are because of pyschological/psychiatric problems, I think it's off limits. And that seems to be the case. Poking fun at her, if it is indeed a psychological problem, will only worsen the matter...and I take no joy in other people's misery. And she does appear miserable.

As a 20 year old hornball I didn't think it was scant at all.... but if I was a father, particularly her father, I'd probably think differently. As for the $100 million career- how has that worked out for her? I think the problem was that the people who were supposed to be doing the adult thinking for her, and let's face it no 17 year-old should have to be making the adult decisions, were not acting like adults. They were blinded by money and fame and didn't take into account what could happen to their immature daughter by just throwing her out to the public. There were many cases of this in entertainment (Michael Jackson being the capstone) and her parents decided to ignore them. Hell- they've now let their second daughter fall into the same trap....

I agree I believe the problems are psychological- I think it's a result of being thrown into a very public life as a still very immature person and not having a chance to grow and learn as a "normal" teen (she only had 1 year of high school). The best thing for her, in my opinion, is to remove herself from public life and to take the time to put her own life together- no publicity, no talk shows, no naked appearances on the MTV awards. She's only 26 years old, there's still time to recover.

Quite well, I think. I'm pretty sure she's worth close to nine figures.

As for the rest...it appears not much thought was ever put into her welfare. If it had, she probably wouldn't be in this situation.

Yes, she has plenty of time to get it together...I hope she does.

Sheesh. Nothing like kicking somebody when they're down.

Make no mistake, I do not approve of her antics. And I am not a fan. But has it occurred to any of you that maybe she really does have some pyschological/psychiatric problems? I mean, that's the only way I could explain her activities.
Of course she has head problems, what amazes me the most is that some slick talking guy with one thing on his mind hasnt got ahold of her yet & started milking her like a cash cow.
