Having just upgraded my HT with JBL Studio L830/810/LC1, Ive been thinking its time to replace my 12 yo Sony 200w(?) sub. Its about the muddiest sub I've every heard. OK with movies, but music, well, it almost sounds like every base player on earth is playing out of tune. Enough of that. So this morning while watching TV, a CC ad came on touting that they were down to 40% off home audio on their closeout sale. So I drove down to see what they had for a sub although I wasn't very confident that they would have anything. What they had were a Boston Acoustic HPS 10HD and some very large Klipschs'. The thing is, I didn't see any discount. So I came home and did a little research. They actually marked up the BA 25% then marked it down again (no 40% to be seen). They actually had it "ON SALE" at the MSRP according to BA's web site. Many years ago I used to work at a car dealership and we did the same thing to our inventory during a sale. I guess its buyer beware.
By the way, how does the Boston Acoustic hold up to a Velodyne DLS3500? I dont have any place to audition either.
