Does anyone have thoughts on the Boston Cs 26 bookshelves.I cant find a lot about them and nobody seems to own them. They seem to be a steal at $150 pair !!

I just don't think a lot of people in here have used them.

I've owned many Boston speakers, and they often provide a good value. I own a pair of CR57 bookshelf speakers, which use a smaller version of the woofer in the CS 26 and a different tweeter. I can't speak for how the CS 26 sounds, but I'd wager it's a risk worth taking.

I spent a little time listening to the CS26. Its not bad speaker if you like things on the bright side. The tweeter is rather hot sounding.

I have listened to some of their speakers about 5 years back and was very impressed. For that price it is worth the gamble.

I think you'll like them. I may give Boston a call and see how they compare with what I already have in my bedroom. They can be really helpful if you get a good CSR. Now I'd save up for a decent subwoofer and set my crossover at 60hz.

I have an Energy 10" sub and the crossover is set to 80.Why would you change to 60??

I like having my speakers handle as much of the bass as they are comfortably capable of handling. Since Boston rates the CS26 for 52Hz – 25kHz I suspect that 60hz would be just about right. That assumes that you leave enough space behind it for the port to do it's job. If that's the case then I'd start at 60hz and see how you like it. You can always switch back to 80hz later. If you'll be blocking the port then I'd start around 80hz.

Keep us posted and let us know how you like them.

hey everyone - it's colleen from BA. CR57 and CS26 are completely comparable, if you like the 57s, you should also like the cs26. specs are pretty similar. let me know if you have any questions...

These speakers sound really good and match my rear surrounds (Ba Micros) nicely.Anyone looking at small bookshelf speakers should add these to the list.

I'm glad it worked out for you. BA is often overlooked but I've always liked their speakers.

I am listening to a pair of them right now. I use them with a subwoofer, and they sound great. Peace and goodwill.
