On the April 1, 2008, Monster Cable sent a cease and desist letter to Blue Jeans Cable,[8] claiming infringement on certain patents owned by Monster Cable and requesting licensing fees. The owner of Blue Jeans Cable, Kurt Denke, previously a litigation lawyer, responded that "Not only am I unintimidated by litigation; I sometimes rather miss it."[9] At the same time, he called into question the possibility of Monster Cable avoiding federal income taxes by using a Bermuda-based holding company.

Go BJC!!!:D

650 people, ~$500 million annual revenue = $769,000 per employee. Not bad for making some wire.

It's about Monster Cable company again?
I think they have guaranteed quality, but overprices too much.
That's why they have so high profit.

Take 'em down Kurt! We're behind you every step of the way! :D

This story is the same as blu-ray. If you're not a fanatic of audio/video, you'll never hear of this lawsuit. By the way, I just explained to a friend yesterday when renting a DVD what a Blu-Ray was...

So the guy who walks in at bestbuy and buys a panasonic plasma and then buys a monster HDMI cable because the guy told him it was a good cable probably didn't even know what Monster cables was before that moment. Let alone that never-ending suing behavior.

Maybe I should run naked in the streets to get ppl's attention and then educate them about the truth behind cables!!!

If only it were that easy, unfortunately in my observations people don't want to hear the truth, they want to have reinforced what they have been spoon fed on late night infomercials and the like. I have actually had people tell me that I have no idea what I'm talking about when I tell them that Bose is overpriced for the quality you get. They actually get angry about it. As if you are personally attacking them. It's a similar thing with Monster or just about any other gigantic company out there, people who "have done their research" just want you to reinforce what they have "spent countless hours on". People want to believe, so let them believe, when they are ready they will come around, but until that point there is no use in trying, you will be dismissed as a charlotten(sp?).

That's been my experience, too. You haven't lived until you've proven to a hardcore high end audiophile that some of his favorite beliefs are not true. I've done this with bias controlled listening tests. Even after experiencing the proof, they still won't give up their beliefs. And, by the way, it is charlatan. Take care.

Thanks for the spelling, no matter what I typed in it wasn't correct and I was too lazy to go to the dictionary :D
