Blu Ray and SACD? Could one help the other?

SACD has been a more novelty item for many, but with the PS3 being so widely purchased lately and it's ability to play SACD's over HDMI with a capable receiver, do you think SACD could hit a boost as well as blu ray thanks to the PS3?

I wouldn't think so. It might get a bit, but it is far more likely that BD audio formats which are incredible, would be more of the audio push for many. Probalby not though since you still would need the CD to rip to your iPod.

I've said this for a while too - if anything the new formats will likely replace SACD and DVD-A completely. What I've heard so far would justify it too, as TrueHD, DTS-HD and lossless PCM are easily as good as anything I've heard on either of them so far - and you don't need to buy a special player (aside from one that utilizes the new formats).
