Weather service keeps reporting light snow. It is light if you can't see 0.5 Km, by their definition. Well I can tell you it is heavy here in Eagan, as there are huge flakes coming down fast. As of 11.00 AM the weather service says we have had 10" of snow. However, there has been steady large flakes coming down fast since then. I would say an inch plus an hour at least. So I would say we have at least 14" on the ground now.
I watch the couple next door, who are young. They have a top end Toro electric blower, but it can't move this and just plugs. The snow is very wet, dripping wet in fact. So, it is going to be very hard to move. I have a feeling my JD 214 will be no match for it. So, I will likely have to call a commercial outfit, if I can.
MSP says 73% of flights are cancelled in and out. I have not heard a plane all day.
Meanwhile the snow is falling hard in very large flakes, with a moderate wind pushing it.
