Distance is cool but lets face it, you ride the trail until it ends and then you hope you can make it back to your car.
Total time once again is if you can make it back to your car.
At my age, HR is what I focus on. Try to keep in a solid training zone without blowing the old thing up.
The data is cool to track progress and overlay the route into google earth to see your ride.
I did the most technical ride I have ever done yesterday. It took over 2 hours to go 6 miles and my HR never went below 122.
