I know that by using the same amp, it may or may not make any difference. But since I have some spare speaker wire, interconnects, banana plugs, and amp channels available, I figure why not bi-amp (or whatever you call what I'm doing) my mains. Here's the plan:
Y-cable to split outputs from the preamp. I have spare y-cables that have 2 males and one female. I assume it doesn't matter if I have one wire from the preamp that then splits at the amp. These are 3' foot cables.
Channels 1 & 2 = Left
Channel 3 = Center
Channels 4 & 5 = Right
Channels 6 & 7 = Left and right surrounds (Nothing connected to these as I'm only running 3.1, but that may or may not change in the future)
I'm not using channels 6 & 7 to bi-amp the mains since they have a different power rating and are +/- 3db I believe. I believe I'm on the right track, but want to be sure. Thanks!
