Guess I don't understand your complaint. Best Buy is one of the best stores to go to for buying DVDs and CDs. Why would their acquisition of Netflix change anything?

I lived in Minnesota before Geek Squad was bought out by BestBuy. Before BB they were helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. Now, not so much.

Bestbuys customer service is legendarily bad. Every (not exaggerating) every customer service interaction I’ve had with BB has been negative. Every (3) interaction with Netflix has been very positive.

I hope I’m wrong and if they get bought out it will be a beautifully synergistic merger, instead of the nightmare that many on the boards fear.

When I first read this my mind jumped to "Blockbuster" instead of "Best Buy" and I almost threw up in my mouth... I can handle Best Buy acquiring them. Blockbuster would be a complete nightmare and woud likely result in the slow death of the company.

I'll take Blockbuster over netflix and/or best buy any day... I've not had good luck with either company.

Best buy has been good to me . For instance honoring a discount on a item I already bought that was past my 30 days and could of easily turned me down and didnt witch inturn saved me 200 dollars .:)

If Best Buy is the best store, then I guess I don't have to worry myself anymore about finding a store that's better than it instead of shopping at Amazon, Deep Discount DVD, DVD Pacific and the like for DVDs (and their counterparts among other sites for CDs and DVDs).

I really hope BB does not buy Netflix, that would be terrible.

My own experiences with BB have been divided - I have long been irritated by the sales staff at the back of the store, you know, where all the A/V stuff lives, and that along with their selection is a main reason I don't shop there often. However, with that said, any time I have had a reason to deal with their customer service - usually involving a returned item, I have no complaints. They have always been helpful, friendly and accomodating, and have never refused a return, even when it was past the 30 day period.

I could see the acquisition going well - it might give Netflix the financial backing to become an even better entity within the movie rental business. I could also see BB slowly dismantling it piece by piece to restructure and reformat it under the now familiar blue and yellow colors - as long as the service doesn't change, what's the big deal. ;) I guess we would all have to wait and see...
