Ooh happy days are back! FOX 15.1 just came back on!! It had been out since Friday!! “Snakeeyes” man I remember that game when “Beast Mode” ran through 9 of my Saints defenders!! Man I was mad!. I was like, mad but going man look at this dude run! Stiff arm here stiff there, dudes bouncing off of him was one of the best runs for a game winning TD I had ever seen! Best of luck to ya Seahawks Bro! May we meet in the postseason!:)

Mike
Ya that is one of those classic plays of all time! :)

When the Seahawks can run again, I expect great things! Beast mode was the engine. Hoping Carson or Penny step up this year and fill that need. :)

Good luck to the Saints as well! I’m watching some of the San Fran and Minnesota game right now. It’s strange to see Sherman on 9ers. LOL. :)

Yeah what’s NEO? and who uses Hall or club? why even put that in? All it does is add a Buncha reverb sound! All I know is FOX 15.1 is out down here! I’m mad as hell cause my Saints are play the Bucs at noon!

Mike
I picked the damn Saints today. I didn't expect them to blow up my pool in week one and give me an L... LOL

Man I was mad! Fitzpatrick had a field day! :mad:Lol.

Mike
Yeah he did, the Saints are still good though. We play Tampa next Sunday, so hopefully Fitzpatrick shot his load and the Eagles can take care of business .

That Viking defense looks good again this year. They have a decent QB now too.

I think the Vikings are going to give Aaron and the Packers a lot of trouble this week.

Yeah, that game was something else. That's why I love watching sports, it's never over till it's over.

Hi, I thought I'd just re-active this link instead of creating a new one. I have a Denon AVR-X3500H which puts out 105w @ 8ohms. I'm using it to push a pair of Elac Uni-Fi UB5s which are rated @ 85w and 4ohms. My Denon says it's good for 6-8ohms, but from what people tell me it can push 4ohms. I've read this post and wanted to clarify on whether or not I could/would benefit from a separate 2 channel amplifier, one that specifically acknowledges 4ohm levels. Parasound amps seem to be popular and I'd also consider Emotiva. The use would be used primarily for 2.1 stereo (I have an SVS PB-2000) music. My room isn't that big roughly 14x14 with one side open and 8' ceiling. I know someone mentioned that maybe getting a different pair speakers that were more efficient would be better. Just wanted to know if a separate 2-channel amp would help. Thanks!

A separate 2ch amp could help but would cost a lot more than the speakers themselves. If you cross over to the sub at 80hz - 100hz your denon will do a fine job unless you go really crazy with the volume knob a lot.

Yes, through the AVR I have the speakers set to small and the sub crossed over at 80hz. I may take your advice and just switch out the speakers to something a bit more efficient. It seems like the music is a bit strained when played at high levels. If the sound app on my phone is correct at roughly 70-73db at 10' away is when I start to notice it. That's the only reason I'm asking about if an external amp would help. Thank you Leemix for your help.

Speakers crossed at 80hz and set as small?
Sub should just let the AVR handle things.

Thats a bit early to start sounding strained yes. It might be lack of power, it might be the speakers not liking loud but either of these is a bit strange at those levels(if the phone app is fairly accurate, many of them arent at all). It might be your room.

But is it the speakers you cross at 80hz, the sub «LPF for LFE» or at the back of the sub?

The answer depends on the SPL you intend to play your system at. If you play your music at low to moderate sound levels, your X3500H should be able to drive your 4 ohm speakers without problem. For doing so, if there is a speaker impedance switch on your AVR, leave it at the 8 ohm position, otherwise you will be limiting the power required to drive those low impedance speakers:

https://www.audioholics.com/audio-amplifier/impedance-selector-switch-1

However, if you like to play the music loud, then you will need external amplification. Some pro audio power amps are inexpensive and would reduce demands on the AVR's power supply.
