Hi,
I'm in the market for a surround sound amp/receiver and wondered if some wise people on the list might be able to give me some advice. I'm happy to pay up to US$2000 but would like to pay a little less if possible. I don't watch TV so the only equipment that I would be connecting to it are:-
Projector Sanyo Z2 (DVI)
DVD Denon 1910 (DVI)
An Xbox 360 in HD mode (when it finally comes out in Australia in March)
I might also hook up my old xbox as well but I'm not too fussed about that.
Since most, if not all my inputs are outputting in HD anyway I'm not sure if I would benifit from upscaling (I have been looking at the Denon AVR-4306) so maybe the AVR 3806 would be better for me?
On a totally unrelated subject has anyone plugged a Z2 into the 1910 using DVI and then tried the upscaling? I get little sparkles like fine snow or something all over the picture making the picture quality worse then when I leave it off. I have tried three diffrent DVI cables but no luck. Since the AVR-4306 used the same scaling chip I'm thinking I would get the same distortion with it too??
Thanks for you input in advance,
Jaime.
