I'd have to include "Miami Vice" ( the movie..not the TV show). The sound reproduction on both shoot-out scenes is as realistic as I've ever heard in a movie. That's pretty close to what automatic gunfire REALLY sounds like. Also the imagery and the way it was shot are great. Only beef is that the dialogue tends to be a bit muffled. Typical Michael Mann......wants you listening real close!!

I'd also be careful to include the audio encoding format in a list like this. For example the "Saving Private Ryan" DTS edition is far better than the Dolby Digital. The same goes for 5th Element - you'd want the DTS Superbit edition (if you were looking for standard definition).

To complete my curmudgeonly-ness, - This is a great topic, and one that many people are interested in. You might note that this forum is for hardware, though, and that there is another in the Software, Movies and Music section called "Movies, DVDs & Theatricks" that might get you a bigger response. Don't let that discourage you, though! Maybe a Mod will come along and move it for you.
