Best connection on Yammy RX-V1800 for Directv?

I was wondering what would be the better option....

1) Run my Directv HD receiver via HDMI to my V1800 with NO upscaling of non HD channels since the receiver doesn't do it through HDMI

or

2) Run component cables to the 1800 and let the ABT chip upscale the non HD channels up to 720p

*my TV is only 720p

what tv do you have? what are the output options on the dtv set top?

I would run component to the receiver and let it upscale onto HDMI since you won't be able to get anything above dts or dolby digital from directv anyway.

If your TV upscales, I would do 1, if not 2.
